Now I'm going to have to find something else that syncs between devices, and it doesn't look like there's a clear consensus yet on what's second best to Google. Nearly every mobile RSS reader just uses Google Reader, so when you read an article it's marked as read everywhere. Why is everyone upset? Because Google Reader is/was the most popular RSS reader by far. I just fire up Google Reader and know that I'm getting everything I want as soon as it's available.

Even for comics that update like clockwork, it's good to not have to know the schedule.

So I just subscribe to the feed, and Google Reader brings me the update when it happens. I don't want to have to check it all the time just to not see anything, and I also don't want to miss an update because I have forgotten about it. The webcomic Perry Bible Fellowship is excellent, but it updates once in a blue moon. This is nice, especially for things that don't update much, or update irregularly. I can click to go to the actual article, or if they're really nice the whole thing is already there in the feed. So instead of having to go and check if there are new articles/comics/whatever on every website I like, instead my RSS reader grabs all my subscribed feeds, scans them for new entries, and then gives them all to me in a list. It's basically a standardized way for something to put out a list of what's new. as well as many things that would otherwise send an email or notification.
